In4All adds new corporate and education board members
We are very excited to announce the addition of two new board members representing prominent business and education organizations. Jennifer Robbins is a principal in the Hillsboro School District, the fourth largest district in the state of Oregon, and Robert Walters comes to us from Umpqua Bank, the largest bank headquartered in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
“We are thrilled to have both of these leaders and their organizations on the board of directors,” said Elaine Charpentier Philippi, In4All Executive Director. “They are both passionate about impacting students who have been historically underserved and will bring unique perspectives as we plan for the future of the organization.”
By design, the In4All board balances the perspectives of business and education in the community in all conversations. Every board and committee meeting includes members from both types of organizations to ensure we create successful partnerships in the community.
Jennifer Robbins, Ladd Acres Elementary
Jennifer is the new principal at Ladd Acres Elementary School in the Hillsboro School District. She has been an educator in the district for 11 years working as a classroom teacher, math curriculum and instruction specialist, instructional coach, and now as a principal.
“As an educator, I work every day with students who face challenges to access their education,” said Jennifer. “As an In4All board member, I hope to grow the impact business-school partnerships have in my community and others around the state to help students achieve their dreams.”
Jennifer has created programs to provide STEM learning for students and started a student equity team to help students of color develop their advocacy skills. Her efforts earned her the Crystal Apple Excellence in Education award from the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce earlier this year.
Robert Walters, Umpqua Bank
Robert is the Director of Technology Operations at Umpqua Bank where he has been for two years since moving from Southern California. He has been in technology for more than 30 years and understands the critical importance STEM education plays in a student’s future.
“I am a huge believer in education as the path to success and it’s disheartening to understand the roadblocks and lack of support so many children and young adults face,” said Robert. “The work that In4All does to counter these forces is really encouraging and aligns well with my morals and goals.”
In addition to bringing technology leadership to the organization, Robert also has a background in accounting, marketing and logistics. He is the second board member to represent Umpqua Bank which strives to invest in organizations and initiatives that create access to education and surface new opportunities for students who face systemic barriers.
