When we launched the STEM Connect program in 2012 we had three amazing business partners – Daimler Trucks North America, IBM and Vernier Software & Technology – that provided the funding and the manpower to make it happen. The commitment of those organizations continues today as the program has grown to include more than 20 companies impacting nearly 4,000 elementary school students annually.

For years, the program has been funded through program dues paid by our business partners and supplemented by other sources of revenue. As we turn our eye toward the future, however, we are aiming to make a greater impact for students who have been historically underserved in the state. Our goal is to grow business-school partnerships every year to double, then triple, the number of students we serve in the next five years.

Reaching that goal means asking each community to increase its funding capacity to support the programming delivered to its schools. Our business partners fund just over half the cost of delivering programming to partner schools. Rather than increase program fees or pass fees onto our schools, we decided to create a funding program giving other businesses and individuals an opportunity to make an impact in their community. We call it Community Impact Circles.

What is a Community Impact Circle?

One of the unique things about In4All is we have always been guided by the needs of local communities and their schools. Our business-school partnerships mobilize teachers and volunteers in a community to have a local impact. All our communities also have businesses, individuals, parents, and even our own board members who also have the capacity to support students.

Community Impact Circles create an opportunity for organizations and individuals to financially support In4All’s work in their community. Each community has a fundraising goal to supplement the program fees paid by business partners which ultimately helps us achieve capacity in that community.

Who can participate?

Volunteers who give their time can also help with funding. Businesses that don’t have the volunteer capacity to fully participate in programming can support schools through corporate giving. Community leaders and members who share a passion for the In4All mission can contribute to a circle supporting their local schools.

What impact does it make?

Reaching our Community Impact Circles funding goal means In4All can continue to serve existing schools and steadily increase the number of business-school partnerships. It also frees funding from other sources to grow our organization, our programming, and our impact on students throughout the state.

How can I sign up?

You can join a circle of companies and individuals who are creating limitless possibilities for students by visiting the “Impact Circles” section on our website. There, you will learn about our presence in each community, see the impact your gift can make, and sign up for monthly or recurring gifts. Then, during the program year, we will provide updates on how your gift is impacting the students in your community.

Why now?

We have been working on the Community Impact Circles program for over a year now and have always planned to launch it for this upcoming school year. The disruption created by the pandemic has just added a whole new level of urgency to our work. Our staff is working with school and business partners to adjust our programming to the new realities of distance learning so we can continue to create limitless possibilities for students. The mission has always been important. Now it’s just more urgent as existing disparities in access are elevated and highlighted in the communities we serve.

So please join our corporate partners, board members and other individuals who are already part of a Community Impact Circle. Learn more about the communities we serve and make your contribution today.
